Beth wyf fi well er meddu'n drist
Y byd i gyd a bod heb Grist
Mae'n elw da, mae'n olud im';
Ond bod heb Dduw yw
bod heb ddim.
Nid oes un enw dan y nef
Rydd fywyd ond ei enw ef;
Ni fu erioed, ni fydd yr un,
Fath Geidwad da i gadw dyn.
Pwy ond Efe a dlodai'i hun
I gyfoethogi tlodi dyn?
Rhagori mae ei gariad Ef
Ar bob rhyw gariad dan y nef.
Rhyw uchder, dyfnder, llęd, a hyd,
Sydd yn ei gariad at y byd;
Uwch deall
daearolion yw,
Yn d'rysu dawn angylion Duw.
Cas. o Salmau a Hymnau (R Phillips) 1843
[Mesur: MH 8888] gwelir: Dymunaf fi ddyrchafu'n awr |
What do I profit although possessing sadly
All the world and being without Christ?
He is good gain, he is wealth to me;
But being without God is
being without anything.
There is no name under heaven
That gives life but his name;
There never was, there shall never be any
Such a good Saviour to save man.
Who but he would make himself poor
To make rich the poverty of man?
His love is superior
To every kind of love under heaven.
Some height, depth, breadth, and length,
Is in his love toward the world;
Above the understanding
of earthlings it is,
Baffling the gift of the angels of God.
